Sitting in this nearly empty apartment I don't have much to do at the moment. I've been slowly acquiring new furniture and trying to get the best deals I can find. So maybe I should back up a bit. We were planning to move back to the states earlier this year. My husband was planning to start school in the states so we shipped all of our household goods back to the states in early May.Read More
And it was at the point that I thought my hair might be on fire that I realized being on a rooftop balcony with 30 other people setting off fireworks might not be the best idea. Oh wait, it was just one person that accidentally set off fireworks and it was toward us. That person was my husband!Read More
Have you ever tried dampfnudeln?! I have lived in Germany for over two years and nearly every time I'm out and about I discover something new. Just when I think I have life down here (except, sadly, for the language) I find that I really know nothing about Germany.Read More

There is a small ice rink, Christmas music, and of course gluhwein.Read More
In case you didn't hear, last weekend was the International Beard and Moustache Championships. It's only held every other year and this year it happened to be in the town right next to us in Leinfelden. Opportunities like this don't come along that often, so we had to go and see what it was all about. I'd seen some photos online and it looked amazing, and once we arrived we were not disappointed! No wonder it's only every two years, some of those beards were ridiculously long and must take a while to grow out. The event attracted people from all over the world. There was even someone with an Alaskan flag there. Check out some of the photos belowRead More
