Photo Catchup: A Visit To Neuschwanstein

Photo Catchup: A Visit To Neuschwanstein

If you happen to read my blog (thank you by the way!) you might have seen that I took a trip to Italy in May with my sister. We drove down to Lake Garda and Venice. I loved Lake Garda with all my heart and wish I could just move there and live and that's what I would do forever until I turned gray. I'm not going to do that, but you should, it's amazing there! Anyway, on the way back we stopped at Neuschwanstein.

Frauen Parking in Germany

Frauen Parking in Germany

This is one of those things that you won't readily find in a book but I think is awesome. Nearly every single parking garage in Germany reserves the top floor of the parking area for women. Pregnant women, single women, groups of women...it doesn't matter as long as it's only women in the car. This is done as a safety precaution so a lady who went shopping for the day or met up with a friend for dinner isn't left to walk four floors underground to find her car. Germany is generally a very safe place but bad things still happen here. I take advantage of this every time I'm out by myself.

A Lazy Sunday Walking Around Stuttgart

We went to the (m)eatery for lunch today. I just wrote a post about it here . We were craving a good burger so we headed to Stuttgart and walked around for a bit. Since we don't live in the city we rarely have reason to come on a Sunday as all stores are closed on Sundays in Germany. It was really nice being able to walk around with few other people on the streets. I grabbed my camera and snagged a few photos on our little walkabout.

How To Become an Expat in Germany

I've received many emails and questions regarding how to move to Germany and find work. This is a great question and I'm so happy that so many people want to explore the world and move overseas! It's absolutely possible and I cannot recommend living abroad enough, as it will greatly expand your knowledge and understanding of the world. New places are exciting and intimidating, especially when you're trying to move to a place with a different native language. I may not have all the answers but I've picked up a few things over the years from meeting other expats who made their way here as well.

In Photos: Stuttgarter Weindorf (Stuttgart Wine Festival)

Here are some photos I took when we visited the Stuttgart Wine Festival the other day. Normally I take many many more but I didn't end up walking around too much when we went. We found a seat and planted ourselves there for a few hours to try the different wines.

The Best Burger In Stuttgart

The Best Burger In Stuttgart

We found it! Finally! It only took us two years but we finally found it! Juicy, cheesy, meaty, hand crafted deliciousness all in one beautiful bite after another. Needless to say it was an exciting meal. Yes it's true, we finally found a good burger in Stuttgart! It's called the (m)eatery and it just opened in downtown Stuttgart between Calwer Str. and Konig Str. The burgers come with your choice of bread, a horseradish mayo, and homemade fries. Mmmmmm!
