Eguisheim: A Christmas Market in the Most Beautiful Village in France

Consistently ranked one of the most beautiful villages in Southern France, Eguisheim is a small town in the Alsace region of France (Southeast France). It's closest to Colmar and Riquewihr, villages that also rank among the most beautiful. After crossing the border from Switzerland to France and driving a short distance to our destination,

Tour Dresden's Striezelmarkt, the Oldest Christmas Market in Germany

It's hard to explain the magic that is felt at a German Christmas Market. All your senses are awakened, and you get a sense of nostalgia, happiness, and merriment by just visiting one with friends. A Winter Visit To The Dresden Frauenkirche Christmas Market

A Winter Visit To The Dresden Frauenkirche Christmas Market

I did a loonng bus trip to see the Dresden Christmas market last weekend. I've been wanting to see Dresden but knew that I didn't have the time to take a long weekend trip solely to visit on my own. So I decided to do the longest bus trip ever to at least see Dresden one time. Now that I'm rested, I'm glad I went, but I don't think

Beer Tastings and Christmas Markets

We went to my favorite, the Esslingen Christmas Market, on Friday and then did a beer tasting at an Irish Pub on Saturday. The beer tasting wasn't a tasting so much as drinking 5 different beers, all good by the way!

In Photos: The Esslingen Medieval Christmas Market

I wrote about it last year, and couldn't wait to go this year to my favorite Christmas market in Germany. While I haven't been to every market in Germany, I don't know of many that are filled with as much character as this one. We even saw a guy that was playing the part of a beggar from medieval times, walking around barefoot in forty degree temperatures!

The Beautiful Christmas Market At Hohenzollern Castle

The Beautiful Christmas Market At Hohenzollern Castle

I've been researching Christmas markets in the area to visit because after this year we only have one more year to check out all the beautiful markets before we are heading back to the states. I came across the Christmas market that's held at Hohenzollern castle. The castle is located in the Swabian Alb and is set on a mountaintop overlooking the area. Personally I think it rivals the famous Neuschwanstein and is much less touristy, which is always a plus. The castle is roughly an hour south of Stuttgart and is well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Our Night Out At The Stuttgart Mini Christmas Market

Our Night Out At The Stuttgart Mini Christmas Market

What was that?! There's already a Christmas market up?! Yes, it's true. Christmas is in the air here in Stuttgart. A mini Christmas market opens in early November and then becomes part of the large Christmas market that opens the end of November and runs up until Christmas (usually the 23rd to 24th). We went last night and I brought my camera along to snag some night shots. I also took a few photos of the Schlossplatz area, where the market is held. There is a small ice rink, Christmas music, and of course gluhwein.
