Germany has strict rights on what’s allowed to be played in Germany. This means that many (most) good videos and songs cannot be played. This includes more than music videos; websites like Hulu,HBO go, Amazon Prime, Pandora, Disney.com, and many others cannot be streamed over here, even if you pay for the service. If you live in the digital age this can be very frustrating.
What a nice message to receive nearly every time I want to watch a video.
There are, of course, ways around this and many people have created companies to mask IP addresses, use U.S. IP Addresses routed here, getting a secured VPN, etc. The paid services are almost always faster and more secure than the free options available.
Some of these sites include:
Strong VPN – www.strongvpn.com
This is a paid service but they claim to be very secure and I’ve heard good things about it.
Hot Spot Shield – www.hotspotshield.com
UnblockUS – www.unblock-you.com
I’ve heard good things about this one too.
I know there are online sources that also say it’s easy to mask your IP address, but I haven’t really looked into how to do it. If you have any advice or a good program you use, please let me know in the comments!

My favorite VPN is from Astrill. It’s really nice because it’s so easy to install and you can use it on multiple computers (although not at the same time).
Oh thanks I will have to check that one out!
